Teamwork isn't just a skill for me; it's my default. Growing up in team sports like soccer and track ingrained in me the principle that collective success is the only success. In those high-stakes environments, I learned to not just communicate under pressure, but to ensure everyone on my team felt confident and capable. I learned to assess a situation and adjust my role for the good of the group.

Connecting Through Care and Action
While volunteering at an Indianapolis homeless shelter, I transitioned from a teammate to a facilitator. I realized that for our group to serve the guests effectively, we first had to be comfortable with one another. I took the lead in breaking the ice, easing the nerves of my teammates, and creating an environment where we could focus entirely on the people we were there to help.
